September Covers Across The Ocean!
September has always been an exciting month for the fashion industry, whether it be the dramatic fashion weeks or the new brand collaborations and launches. Vogue Italia is drawing a lot of attention with three different covers this month, dubbed Bacio, featuring models embracing and kissing each other. A Victoria Secret darling Lily Aldridge and Vittoria Ceretti amiably kissing which feels more like a celebration of a female friendship; Maria Carla Boscono mostly known for her gothic Givenchy campaigns, passionately embracing Federico Spinas on the other; and last but not least, a celebration of LBTQ rights, featuring a real couple Edourado Velicskov and Pablo Rousson. The legacy of provocative and boundary pushing former editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, whom sadly passed away not so long ago, is being carried through gracefully.!
British Vogue on the other hand, is celebrating models from past, present and future, unfortunately, with an all white cast; while casually ticking the exotic box with Nora Attal. Global editions of Harper’s Bazaar give more hope by casting an international set of models and blending fashion with music by also featuring musicians like Courtney Love and the very much admired, TheWeeknd. !
Dansk is honoring 15 years by merging collage and photography, profiling both males and females on several celebratory covers. Forget Them and NR Magazine are recent and edgy publications, featuring emerging artists and the inventive ways of styling, while parading photography as an art form for the covers. !
